Agenda and Issues

(1.)   Reduce Taxes!

 We must implement “sunset laws” and “zero-based budgeting” to require every government agency and program to justify its existence and budget.  I will lead the Legislature in prioritizing funding, and fully fund Public Safety and Education before allocating funds elsewhere.

 I will author bills increasing Homestead Exemption to $3000.00; eliminating state inheritance (death) taxes; and that will repeal the income tax on capital gains.

 I support legislation requiring all State Excise Taxes on fuel sales be credited directly to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation instead of the State General Fund. 

 (2.)   Reduce Crime!

 I will fight for strict law enforcement and punishment for all crimes to include the death penalty for capital offenses.  I believe a trial, sentence, and carrying out such sentences should be completed in a timely manner.  I support legislation that will eliminate frivolous lawsuits by prisoners.  

  Because all crimes are directly hurtful to victims, and indirectly damaging to all citizens, a need for so called “hate crimes” is not warranted.

I strongly support rigorous enforcement of all anti-pornography laws.  Tax supported schools and libraries must stop providing access to porn. 

I strongly support a national Amber Alert.

 (3.)   Reform Education!

"No child should be left behind,” therefore, Education must be funded first! Also, students in the 8th grade, along with their parents, should select either the Honors or Standard Tract. For the Honors Tract, the “4 by 4” program to include math, science, English, and history is required.  Teachers and principals must be granted the authority to enforce a proper dress code and lawfully maintain order and discipline.   

I strongly support legislation enabling parent’s choice of schools, including public, private, parochial, charter or home schooling. Parents must be allowed to use their tax dollars for education through tax credits or for donations to education scholarship funds. 

I strongly support local school funding and control, with strict accountability to parents and taxpayers.  If local residents want more state funding for schools, they must obtain it through their property taxes and economic development, not through higher state taxes.  Education should not be granted more tax money until most of the administrative waste and inefficiency is dramatically curtailed.

I support performance-based pay for good teachers.

 I support student’s rights of voluntary vocal prayer and equal access to use school facilities for religious activities. 

The Ten Commandments should be posted in all public schools as a means of universal moral guidance.

The American flag should be displayed in the classroom, and students should be taught respect for, and history of, the American flag, and lead daily or weekly in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

(4.)   Protect Pre-Born Life! 

I will personally author a bill requiring physicians to report the number of pregnancies, so that Oklahoma will know (comparing this data with the birth rate), just how many abortions are performed in our state. Currently, we have no idea.

I will fight for the sanctity of human life from conception through natural death.  I oppose all partial birth abortions, and abortions except in the extremely rare case when a mother’s physical life would be in jeopardy. Being Pro Life is not a political belief, but a religious and moral conviction.

As long as Roe v. Wade is law, I will lead for legislation that guarantees parental notification and authorization of 24 hours prior to a minor receiving an abortion. Abortion clinics should, by law, comply with the same medical and safety standards required by hospitals. 

 I will lead for legislation that allows obstetric and gynecology residency programs to refuse to provide abortion training and the student’s right to refuse to perform abortions. I will push legislation that prohibits cloning, harvesting fetuses and the sale of organs and tissues. I also will oppose euthanasia and mercy killing.

(5.)   Strengthen families!

I will fight for the right of parents to rear, educate, discipline, nurture and spiritually train their children without government interference. I support programs that include faith-based organizations that promote traditional marriage, and decreases out-of-wedlock births.

I support legislation and public assistance policies that encourage a commitment to traditional marriages and strong families, and prohibits recognition of same-sex marriages or domestic partnerships.  

I will author a resolution stating: “Sexual abstinence is the only 100% effective method of preventing pregnancies and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and therefore, sex education ought to based on a curriculum of sexual abstinence, not so called comprehensive sex education that focuses on condoms.”
